I see where healthcare workflows break — because I work inside them. Now I'm bringing that frontline perspective to the technology built to improve them.

GOOD SYSTEMS ARE A FORM OF CARE.
Why I Care
I've worked inside enough hospitals to know that clinicians are remarkably good at making imperfect systems work.
We remember what the software doesn't. We create workarounds. We double-check information across screens. We learn which alerts matter and which ones to ignore. We carry the cognitive burden of systems that weren't designed around the reality of providing care. Most of the time, the patient never knows how much invisible work happened behind the scenes.
I don't think we should accept that as the cost of working in healthcare.
Nurses and clinicians deserve technology that makes it easier to care for people, not technology they have to work around. Patients deserve healthcare systems that take advantage of what's possible today, rather than asking the people caring for them to keep compensating for what's outdated, fragmented, or unnecessarily difficult.
Working across multiple health systems has made me believe deeply in what thoughtful technology can change, especially when the people who actually deliver care have a voice in building it.
That's the work I want to be part of.

OBSERVATIONS FROM THE BEDSIDE
01
Medication workflows shouldn't rely on memory.
When timing, prior administrations, and overlapping orders aren't easy to reconcile, nurses become the system's safety net. I want to design workflows that surface the right information at the right moment.
02
Technology should reduce cognitive load.
Clinicians already make hundreds of decisions in environments full of interruptions. Good technology should organize complexity — not add another layer clinicians have to manage.
03
The workaround is data.
When clinicians create cheat sheets, reminders, extra clicks, or unofficial processes to get their work done, they're showing us exactly where the system isn't meeting the workflow.
04
Adoption starts with the user.
A technically impressive product doesn't matter if it doesn't work in the reality of clinical care. The people using a system every day should help shape how it's designed, deployed, and improved.

Multiple Health Systems Nationwide
Rapidly learn new healthcare organizations, Epic configurations, clinical workflows, policies, and team practices, becoming independently functional within each new environment.
Educate patients and families on complex clinical conditions, procedures, medications, and care plans, adapting explanations to different levels of health literacy and prior knowledge.
Coordinate complex patient care across physicians, nursing leadership, anesthesia, neonatal specialists, and ancillary departments in high-acuity environments.
Precept and orient nurses to hospital-specific workflows, documentation practices, policies, and processes.
Maintain thorough, precise clinical documentation with continuity of care in mind, ensuring subsequent clinicians can quickly understand patient status, interventions, clinical decisions, and changes over time.
Transitioned from a highly resourced academic medical center to a small community LDRP environment requiring significantly greater clinical autonomy, broader scope, and independent decision-making.
Provided comprehensive labor, postpartum, and newborn care in an 8-bed LDRP with a Level I nursery, frequently working with a two-nurse unit team while additional clinical support operated on call with up to a 60-minute response time.
Developed expanded newborn stabilization and emergency-response capabilities to provide immediate care when specialty neonatal support was not onsite.
Managed competing unit demands and patient assignments during emergencies, independently prioritizing care while coordinating limited onsite and on-call resources.

LABOR & DELIVERY · CROSS-FUNCTIONAL CARE · CLINICAL OPERATIONS
Coordinating Care Across the Team
In Labor & Delivery, a single patient's care can involve nursing, OB, anesthesia, pharmacy, neonatal teams, and support staff — often simultaneously and under rapidly changing conditions. My role requires keeping those moving pieces aligned: surfacing the right information, anticipating what each team needs, escalating concerns, and adapting the plan as clinical conditions change.
I regularly orient nurses ranging from new graduates to experienced travel RNs. I assess what they already know, identify what they need to learn, and translate unfamiliar workflows, Epic documentation, unit policies, and clinical processes into practical bedside execution.
The goal: get clinicians confidently and safely operational while adapting the training to the person in front of me.

PEER MENTOR COORDINATOR · CU COLLEGE OF NURSING · PROGRAM OPERATIONS
Scaling Support Through People
I coordinated a peer mentorship program serving 178 nursing students, leading 13 peer mentors who each supported their own group of students. I managed communication, coordinated program logistics, supported mentors as challenges arose, and served as a bridge between students, peer leaders, and faculty.
The experience taught me that scaling support isn't about being everywhere yourself — it's about creating the structure, communication, and trust that allow others to succeed.
